Our Current Programs

The KMC designs and delivers innovative programming that specifically meets the needs of young musicians in our city.  Our unique programs support young musicians and give them an outlet for their creativity.  Programs are offered year round, just click the link for each season to find a program that is right for the music lover in your life!

Since 1978 the Kamloops Interior Summer School  of Music (KISSM) has been inspiring youth to follow their musical passions. Every July, students aged 5 to 18 attend our fun, interactive three week camp. With more than 50 classes, activities, and performances!

BAND Together is a collaboration between School District 73 and the Kamloops Music Collective. The program introduces Grade 6 and 7 students to high school band, by inviting them to their future High School to participate for a 6 week Introduction to Concert Band program.

Set the Stage! gives kids two separate one week opportunities over Spring Break to explore music and the arts through our Performing Arts camp and our Music Exploration camp! So whether you are a musical enthusiast or you are musically inclined, there is an option for every kid!

The Kamloops New Music Festival is an annual event, presented by the Kamloops Music Collective to celebrate the innovative ways musicians are creating and sharing music within the community. It allows students of all ages - with or without any musical experience - to explore new sounds and ideas.

The KMC offers a variety of community outreach programs, year-round, including Tuba Christmas performances, KMC Workshops, and partnerships with other Non-Profits. We recognize that by working with other organizations we're stronger!

Whole Note is a community music program offered throughout the year to students who face financial barriers. Whole Note supports youth in 3 special ways—through free music lessons,  enrollment in KISSM and opportunities to learn  from and perform with local music groups.
